Getting Bloggy

That's blonde me, on the runway! To the right of me, Lina is modeling my designs.

I went to school for fashion design. When I was just an aimless teenager, my mom decided I needed a hobby. She was probably right. For Christmas one year she picked up an simple, yet fateful blue sewing machine. On Christmas Eve that year, I just so happened to be sewing a quilt for my then boyfriend (now husband <3), when our ancient family sewing machine broke. Well, luckily, my mom was able to save the day by giving me my gift early. By doing so, she not only saved the world from ending (as it would have if I had not finished his gift in time), but also gave me freedom to discover my passion.

I love my blue sewing machine!

Fashion school was a fun, hard, confusing, wonderful but unrealistic segeway to the real world. Dreams you have in college often remain dreams. One thing I can say, though, is the friends I made are friends for life. This week, I was lucky enough to do a guest blog post on a fellow fashion alum's blog. Check out my post on the passion behind the bumble!

As a side note, the model in my first picture, Lina, has also been quite successful! From fashion design to shoes! She has her own company now :) http://www.linazeineddine.com/

  1. Good for you momma! You sound a lot like me. I recently launched my online shop www.fhjbaby.com. and I'm currently pregnant with my third girl. I've loved fashion and designing since I was a child but like you said life happens. Things get put on the back burner. I've been telling my husband that I would like to cloth diaper this baby since we will already have a toddler in diapers.
